AMD, 컴퓨텍스2016 행사에서 차세대 고성능 솔루션 발표

 

 

대만 타이페이 — 2016년 6월 1일—  AMD(NASDAQ: AMD)는 오늘, 대만 타이페이에서 개최된 컴퓨텍스 2016  행사를 통해 컴퓨팅 및 그래픽 분야의 혁신적인 솔루션을 새롭게 공개했다.

 

AMD의 리사 수(Lisa Su) CEO는 “AMD는 2016년을 맞아 혁신적인 신제품 라인업을 선보이며 AMD의 컴퓨팅 및 그래픽 기술을 한층 강화하고 있다”며, “오늘 발표한 7세대 A 시리즈 모바일 APU 는 물론, 라데온™(Radeon™) RX시리즈 그래픽 카드, ‘젠(Zen)’ 아키텍처기반 차세대 데스크톱 프로세서인 ‘서밋 릿지(Summit Ridge)’는 고성능 컴퓨팅 및 그래픽 분야 선두주자로서의 입지를 다지고자 하는 AMD의 노력을 증명하는 첫 결과물이다”고 말했다.

 

AMD는 이번 컴퓨텍스 2016  행사에서 다음과 같은 제품을 공개했다:

 

AMD 라데온™ 폴라리스 아키텍처(Radeon™ Polaris Architecture)

AMD 폴라리스 아키텍처 기반 라데온™ RX 시리즈(Radeon™ RX Series)는 오는 6월 29일 출시될 예정이다. HTC 바이브™ (Vive™) 및 오큘러스™ 리프트™(Oculus™ Rift™)와 동시에 호환 가능한 제품으로, 현존하는 그래픽 카드 중 합리적인 가격에 프리미엄급 가상현실 환경을 제공한다.

 

라데온™ RX 시리즈 그래픽 카드는 AMD가 추진하는 가상현실 시스템 보급 및 관련 소프트웨어 생태계 활성화 전략의 핵심이 되는 제품으로, 미화 기준 권장소비자가 $199로 출시될 예정이다. AMD는 이러한 합리적이 가격 정책을 통해 가상현실 시스템 시장의 발전을견인하는 것은 물론, 전반적인 장비 가격 안정에도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.

 

7세대 AMD A시리즈 APU

7세대 AMD A시리즈 프로세서를 탑재한 노트북 제품은 사용자에게 보다 강력한 성능과 긴 사용 시간을 제공한다.[3] 특히, 최상의 전력 효율성을 갖춘 CPU 코어를 최대4개까지 탑재해 강력한 성능을 발휘하는 것은 물론, 장시간 사용 가능한 ‘올데이 배터리 라이프(All day battery life)’ 구현도 가능하다.[4] 7세대 AMD A시리즈 프로세서 제품군은 빠른 연산이 가능한  ‘엑스카베이터(Excavator)’ x86 CPU 코어와 내장 라데온™(Radeon™) 그래픽을 탑재한다. 또한, 보다 원활한 게이밍 환경 및 HD 영상 재생 능력을 제공하기 위해 라데온™ R7그래픽을 탑재한 제품도 출시될 계획이다. 상위 브리스톨 릿지 제품군은 35W 및 15W 급의 AMD FX™, A12, A10 프로세서로 구성되며, 하위 스토니 릿지 제품군은 15W급의 A9, A6, E2 제품으로 구성된다.

 

x86 CPU 코어 기반의 고성능 ‘젠’ 아키텍처

한편, AMD는 컴퓨텍스 2016  행사에서 자사의 혁신적인 x86  CPU코어 기반 ‘젠’ 프로세서 아키텍처도 공개했다. 젠 프로세서는 8개의 코어와 16개의 쓰레드를 지원하며, 코드명 ‘서밋 릿지’로 알려진 차세대 AM4 데스크톱 프로세서에 최초로 탑재된다. AMD 젠 프로세서는 고성능 데스크톱, 서버, 노트북, 임베디드 솔루션 등 다양한 시장에 출시될 예정이다.
